- people that are physically or mentally unwell, disabled, or affected by learning disabilities;
- people suffering from financial hardship;
- and / or the older adult in need of financial help
within East Devon and the County of Devon, in any manner as the Trustees may decide’.
All grants are made at the discretion of the Trustees, who use their experience to prioritise applications benefitting the most urgent, needy and local Devon residents. Demand for financial help always is in excess of what the Charity is able to award.
- Applications that require grant payments to be made in instalments, over any period of time. Only one grant payment per application will be made.
- For trips outside of the UK, for any reason.
- For flooring or carpets, of any kind, for a family home.
- For retrospective funding (items or services that have already been purchased).
- For a project or reason which would benefit the general public too, outside of the 3 classes of beneficiary. For example, equipment for a community group where only some members might be elderly; or applications for any kind of Emergency / Accident / Search & Rescue organisations, would not be considered.
This Trust has a strong preference for helping small and local charities / organisations. These applications are prioritised, and large national charities are discouraged from applying (even if for Devon residents).
We expect grants to be spent within 6 months of receipt for an organisation, or 3 months for individuals / families. If this is not to be the case please let us know when applying.
Only one application from any applicant will be considered in any 12 month period.
